Seeing the Country as an Inspector
Traveling is one of the hardest things about being an inspector, but it is also one of the greatest. It can be tough being away from home for extended periods of time, but it is also wonderful to see the country. Therefore, it’s the gift of travel that allows you to see things and experience things that you otherwise would miss in life. It’s the gift that allows you to see the beauty of the U.S. Virgin Islands, enjoy the food in the South, and marvel in the snow of the Northeast.
Once while spending two weeks in Washington, I was able to see Mount Rainier and the beautiful waterways throughout the state. It was a magnificent state to see, and one that I’d never taken the time to visit if I hadn’t been scheduled for two weeks in sites all over the state. The
same with the U.S. Virgin Islands where I got to spend the weekend deep sea fishing and diving the reefs surrounding the islands.
Yet the greatest part of being an inspector isn’t all the beautiful views and new experiences, it is the people. In small rural towns across America are some amazing people who are caring and passionate about what they do for others. I am constantly amazed at the work these site managers and maintenance personnel carry on their shoulders. All while keeping a smile on their face and great people to laugh and get to know through the inspections.
The natural beauty of our country is amazing but so are its people. Inspecting might not be for everyone, but for the ones capable of living that lifestyle, it is an incredible way to see the country and meet its people. I feel like my life is richer just through my experiences as an inspector. How can I thank E&A enough for giving me the opportunity to experience this great
country of ours?
