Employee Spotlight: Emily English

We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to one of our Compliance File Reviewers, Emily English!

This blog post spotlights Emily and lets you learn more fun facts about her.

1. How long have you been with E&A Team, and what do you do here?

Since February 1, 2021, and I’m a Compliance File Reviewer and Meeting Planner.

2. What is your favorite thing about working for E&A Team?

Top 3: Overall atmosphere of staff support, file review team’s guidance and encouragement, and work schedule.

3. How have you grown as an individual since working for E&A Team?

I’m learning how my talents and personality traits are well-suited for my assignments. Because I am detail-oriented and like to consider multiple angles of any situation, the investigative nature of reviewing files for compliance plus the challenges of securing appropriate meeting spaces for live training sessions fit me well. Having employers who are committed to “putting the right people in the right seats” on the team bus not only serves the company, but it also fosters and manifests my personal success and resultant growth in confidence and skills.

4. What is one of your proudest moments at E&A Team?

Simple recognition, pats on the back, and “Atta Girl” comments all help me feel proud of the work I’m doing in securing E&A Team’s highly regarded position in the industry. Collectively, we have big goals and when I work toward our common goal with the greater good in mind, I feel accomplished. Every stage actor needs backstage support and that’s how I can help now.

5. What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I often think using complete sentences and analogies. I believe it’s okay to be different. Because I moved around so much as an adult, I considered myself a tumbleweed. Even tumbleweeds have a purpose. Living near the coast, I also consider myself to be a mermatee – part mermaid, part manatee – fanciful, friendly, curious, and none of us live in captivity! I also love to dance & taught Zumba for years. Aaaand, a vine-ripened tomato sandwich with watermelon for dessert is my favorite meal!

6. What are some of your favorite things?

Any shade of blue. Hot French fries (because cold fries are not worth the calories). Tomato sandwiches. Watermelon. Catching people off guard in Walmart by smiling or offering them a compliment. Falling asleep to the sound of rain. Hammocks. Naps. Daffodils. Dragonflies. Barstools – rocking chairs – porch swings because that’s where stories are told. Old-timey hymns in a traditional service that make me smile and cry because I’m overwhelmed that yes, Jesus loves me.

7. What would your perfect day off include?

Kayaking on the bay near where I live, seeing dolphins feed and play, morning tea on the back porch, reading a devotional, doing something productive, a bike ride, a talk with my mom, a nap under a beach umbrella in late afternoon, jumping gentle waves that won’t knock me down, walking over to the waterfront park & watching the sunset over the bay, and NO MOSQUITOES! Plus, a good cheeseburger.
