Training for Everyone

In this exciting new training, the learner takes on the role of a newly-hired tester and learns the basics of fair housing.  The “tester” is taught what to look for when evaluating properties for possible fair housing discrimination claims.  Once the learner knows what testers are looking for, they can apply the principles and knowledge they gained to their real-life role in property management!

The course contains six instruction modules:

Module 1:  Introduction to Testing, Laws, and Discrimination

Module 2:  Enforcement Mechanisms and Remedies

Module 3:  Interacting with Potential Tenants

Module 4:  Introduction to Accessibility Requirements

Module 5:  Reasonable Accommodation and Reasonable Modification

Module 6:  Introduction to Harassment in Housing

The course includes a downloadable comprehensive fill-in-the-blanks manual which once completed becomes an excellent desk reference for fair housing issues.  The manual’s appendix includes important and valuable documents.

Once enrolled you will have six months unlimited access to the course.

You can take the course at your own pace — start, stop, return later and resume where you left off.

Upon successful completion of the course materials and the course exam (50 T/F and Multiple Choice Questions), you will be able to print your own Certificate stating that you have completed three hours of online fair housing training.

This course was designed to provide architects and engineers with an understanding of the accessibility design requirements under the Fair Housing Act and Section 504.

4.  To provide an understanding of the Fair Housing Design Manual and how it applies to multifamily housing.

DESCRIPTION:  This is an On-Demand Video Course taught by Scott Moore.

This Series contains three and a half hours of video material.  The videos are from 5 to 20 minutes in length.  They must be viewed in sequence, but once you have viewed a video you can re-watch it.

You can stop, start, rewind, leave and resume the instruction videos.

EXAM:  After the review, you will take a  Multiple-Choice Exam.  A Score of 80% on the exam is required in order to complete the course.

CERTIFICATE:  Upon completion of the course, you will be given the opportunity to instantly print your Certificate of Completion.

Training for those needing Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Certification:

TDHCA Special Rules and Fair Housing, ADA, & Section 504 Design Requirements – $395

This course was designed to provide architects and engineers with an understanding of the accessibility design requirements under the Fair Housing Act and Section 504 as well as the Special Rules for Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.

CERTIFICATION:  This course has been approved by The Texas Department of Community & Housing Affairs (TDHCA) and satisfies their five-hour Quality Allocation Plan (QAP)  requirement.  Successful completion of this course will provide the student with a Certificate indicating that five hours of training have been completed.

Objectives:

1.  To provide an understanding of the Fair Housing Amendments Act and Section 504as it pertains to accessible design for multifamily housing.

2.  To provide an understanding of the coverage matrix of the three federal accessibility laws.

3.  To provide an understanding of the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards and its design requirements for multifamily housing.

Fair Housing Leasing & Management Issues for Owners & Managers who need TDHCA Certification – $125

PURPOSE:  To empower those in the housing industry in TEXAS with the knowledge and skills to deal with difficult fair housing issues and to satisfy the annual fair housing training requirements of government agencies include the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.

DESCRIPTION:   This course is designed for those new to the housing industry as well as experienced housing professionals wishing to refresh their understanding of housing laws.

You will have unlimited access to the course for up to six months from the date of enrollment.
